Ronald Thedford

Ronald Thedford of Waxahachie, Texas born October 28, 1945 passed away April 3, 2021 at 6:34pm. He went to be with Jesus as his wife and children sang his favorite worship songs to him. Ronnie graduated from Maypearl High School.

Married on Sept 25, 1965 to Regina Owens Thedford at the home of Dorothy and Garner Owens. Ronnie enlisted in the United States Navy in 1965 and served his country for four years.  He received a Silver Star Award for his service aboard the USS Ticonderoga (CVA-14) Attack Carrier Air Wing Nineteen during the Vietnam War.

Ronnie worked as a master craftsman in commercial construction for most of his career.  He enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, singing, and playing games with family and friends including Horseshoes, 42, and was a board game enthusiast.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Reynolds, father, Archie Thedford, brothers Gary Thedford and Jimmy Boon, and grandchildren Preston Noe; Trevor, Tobias, and Hope Thedford.

He is survived by his loving wife Regina Thedford, children Rhonda Stanford, Melissa Thedford, and Corey Thedford and brother Danny Cates. Ronnie was also known as Pepaw to his grandchildren Holli, Marshall, and Katibeth Stanford, Erika Noe, Courtney Shows, and Mitchell Clark, Ty, Hannah, and Troy Thedford, as well as eight great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids as he antagonized them relentlessly. We all enjoyed his child-like spirit. We will miss you Pepaw!
