Rolan C. "R.C." Davenport, 85 of Waxahachie, passed away surrounded by his family at his residence on Friday morning, January 6, 2009. He was born to the late Ernest R. & Zula L. Curtis Davenport on July 17, 1923 in Ellis County, Texas.

R. C. was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very tolerant and giving. He loved his family very much and loved spending time with them. R. C. had many friends and would do anything he could for anyone. He loved the outdoors and he will be missed by so many who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Betty Jo Davenport of Waxahachie; his son, Robert Davenport of Garfield, AR; his grandchildren, Damon Davenport and wife, Misti of McKinney, Debra Morales and husband Alex of Spring, Randall Davenport and wife, Natalee of Plano; 7 great grandchildren, Jennie, Maeghan, Demi, Ethan, Dane, Madison, and Madilyn.

He was preceded in death by his loving daughter-in-law, Sylvia Davenport.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Visitation for family and friends is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
