Robert L. Venable, age 84

Mr. Venable passed away Sunday morning at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth. He was born in Rankin, Texas to Robert Arthur and Lucy Marzee (Butler) Venable. He graduated from Avalon and married Juanita E. Vannett on July 2, 1945 in Yuma, AZ. She preceded him in death after 53 years of marriage. He married Myra Elizabeth (Wood) Huskins January 21, 2000 in Waxahachie. Mr. Venable served in the US Navy during WWII stationed in Pasco, Washington. He was lead surveyor for Franklin County for more than 10 years. He was employed with Phillips Petroleum in Finley, WA., as plant operator and retired as Safety Engineer after 30 years experience. Robert was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Pasco for nearly 50 years. He served on the Board and was church treasurer. After his move to Waxahachie in 2000, he attended the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie. Robert was a regular at the Baylor Worx gym. He and Myra walked daily and were active members of the Nash Victory Club.
His survivors include: his wife, Myra Elizabeth Venable of Waxahachie; son, Rickey Lynn Venable and Beatrice Henrioulle of Kennewick, WA.; daughter, Kathy Jean Reynolds and Richard Norman Reynolds of Richmond, CA.; step daughter, Karen Carney and husband Gerald of Ft. Worth; two step sons, Lyle Huskins and wife Susie of Waxahachie, and David Huskins also of Waxahachie; brother and sister-in-law, Ewell and Dorothy Venable of Mabank, Texas; sisters-in-law, Flossie Bardell and Elizabeth Vannet of Seattle, WA.; and four grandchildren: Remi Venable, Henry Venable, Bethany Reynolds, and David Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his son, John Albert Venable; brother, Leo Venable; sisters, Erma Walters, Joycie Kirby, Ozelle Riddle, and Rosemary Venable.
The Celebration of his Life will be 3 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. He will be interred at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Pasco, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First United Methodist Church, 703 W.
