Robert A. Tompkins, passed away very suddenly November 13, 2015. He was born in Pratt, Kansas on July 26, 1939. He was 76 years old and held a full time job at Americase in Waxahachie until his passing. He joined the Army Airborne Paratroopers on November 19, 1957 and received an honorable discharge. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Edra Sue; his 3 children, DeRhonda Vann of Pensacola, FL, Ronda Alice and Debbie Renee; 2 step children, Dena Escobar of Dallas and Michelle Velazquez of Irving; his sister, Irene Blount; and also by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and had the love and respect of many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Tompkins and Alta Kazee; also by his brother, Earl Tompkins. Robert and Sue were active in many organizations over the years. They joined the Irving CB Radio Club in 1974 and participated for several years. They have been members of the Shasta Wings, Texas Bluebonnet Club and Coachmen Clubs in Texas from 1997 to present, in which Robert held the position of president of that organization for one year. Robert's passion was his Honda Gold Wing Trike. In 2011 they joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association and were members of Chapter W2 in Waxahachie. Robert and Sue were Couple of Year in 2013 and helped coordinate the CASA Toy Drive in Waxahachie in 2013, 2014 and 2015. He will be greatly missed. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor David Carlson officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
