Mr. Sunderman passed away early Thursday morning at Methodist Medical Center in Dallas. He was born in Mena, AR. to Charles F. and Lydia Susan (Voerster) Sunderman.
Having lived in Mena until 1936, he moved to DeQueen and graduated third in his class of 51 in May, 1945. Mr. Sunderman served in the US Army from June 6, 1945 to November 19, 1946 when he was discharged as Private First Class at Ft. Dix, NJ. He attended the University of Arkansas and earned his BS Degree in Business Administration with a major in Personnel Administration. He was employed with the Red River Arsenal, Great American Reserve and AVO Multi-Amp and was a forms analyst with Southland Life.

Mr. Sunderman is survived by: his wife, Nancy of Cedar Hill; two daughters, Sharon Fontenot and husband Robbie of Grand Prairie, and Melissa Adamson and husband Lewis of Midlothian; one brother, Henry G. Sunderman and wife Betty of Mena; and one sister, Dorothy Sunderman also of Mena; four grandchildren, Jennifer and Eric Adamson and Paul and Matthew Fontenot; his mother-in-law, Vera Springer of Cedar Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Charles, Leroy, Harold and Edwin, and one sister, Catherine Miller.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Shiloh Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Duane Dougherty officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Van McElroy, Dale Helm, Eugene McLemore, T. C. Switzer, David Harder, John White and John Ed Presley. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
