Robert Vonn Lucke, 46, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 16. Robert was embraced by Jesus and welcomed into heaven while surrounded by those who loved him, at Baylor's Sammons Cancer Center, in Dallas.

Robert will be missed the most by Tessie Jenkins Lucke, his one true love and wife of 21 years, and by his two precious children, Katie Anne and Steven. He is also survived by his parents, Lynell and Daren Lucke, two sisters, Kace Ragan and Kele Lindsey, her husband, Jay, and his extended family: Happy and Linda Jenkins, Julie and Wayne Galligan, and Bryan and Allison Jenkins. Robert was also a proud uncle to Kristen, Ryan, Jake, Jacy, Patrick, Julie, Audrey, Rachel, Josh, and Johnny, all who loved him dearly.

Robert will always be remembered for his kindness, his integrity, his talent and his boundless love for those he considered family and friends. He showed remarkable strength and courage in the face of difficult times and always remained tenderhearted and true. As he leaves us, we rest on these words from 2 Timothy, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." It is easy to imagine Jesus welcoming his child home saying, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

He touched each of our lives with his endless kindness, his wonderful sense of humor and his unwavering devotion to his family. Being a part of his life has been a rare gift and will be a life-long blessing to those of us left behind. We are sad to say good-bye to such a remarkable man, but everyone who has had the honor of knowing him will agree "Well done, Robert! Well done."

The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 6-8 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 3 PM at First Baptist Church in Waxahachie. Interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robert Lucke to The Lymphoma Research Foundation, 111 Broadway, 19th floor, New York, NY 10006 or at www.lymphoma.org
