Robert Gibbs of Maypearl, Texas passed away at his residence on January 5, 2008. He was born on January 4, 1940 in Glover, Oklahoma to Ollie and Louise Gibbs and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Texas

He married his wife, Ulrike Mirz on July 19, 1969 in Geislingen, Germany.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Ulrike Gibbs of Maypearl, his sons, Michael Gibbs and wife Jennifer of Midlothian, Tx. and Timothy Joyce of Talladega, Al., daughters, Alexa Gibbs of Maypearl and Darla Hurst of Lincoln, Al.
Also surviving are two brothers, James Gibbs of Valiant, Ok., Carl Gibbs of Glover, Ok., and two sisters, Lavetta Morgan of Broken Bow,Ok., and Angie Thompson of Kilgore, Tx.; four grandchildren, Landon Routh, Allyson Gibbs, Cole Gibbs, and Blake Hurst, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday evening, January 7, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2008 at the Cowboy Church, 2374 Hwy 287 Bypass West, Waxahachie,Texas with Reverend Michael Nemec officiating. Interment will follow in Maypearl Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Burt Maddox, Bill Scott, Garland Edelhauser, Burt Maddox Jr., Tony Clark, Edward Nelson, Charlie Anderson, and Bobby Creech. Honorary pallbearer will be Jack Wollschlaeger.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funer Home.
