Mrs. Tolleson, a lifetime Ellis County resident, passed away Thursday at Baylor Medical Center Waxahachie. She was born in Maypearl, TX. to Grass and Sis (Mitchell) Spears.
Mrs. Tolleson graduated from Maypearl High School in 1953. She was employed with Tyler Refrigeration for 33 years, retiring in 1999.According to Gwen Johnson, Human Resources Manager of Tyler Refrigeration, "Rita Tolleson was a dedicated employee of Tyler Refrigeration for 33 years before her retirement from the company in September of 1999. Rita was a valuable employee in several areas of the company including Data Processing, Accounting and Plant Administration. Rita was respected by all that worked with her. She represented the company with professionalism and dedication, and will be missed by many." She loved cats, loved to read and loved people. Rita was a member of the First Baptist Church of Maypearl.

Rita is survived by: one daughter, Vicki Tolleson and friend Greg Brozik of Maypearl; grandson Jarrod Cody Ladyman; three great grandchildren, Brittany, Kaylyn and Blake Ladyman. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Edward.

The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Graveside Services Sunday, August 29, 2004 in the Auburn Cemetery, Maypearl, with Reverend Tony Sheffield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maypearl Volunteer Fire Department or the Emphysema Foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
