Rita Stones

Rita Merle Stones of Waxahachie, Texas, died on December 8, 2018 at the age of 105.  Rita was born on February 26, 1913 in Midland, Texas, one of 11 children to West Texas ranchers, Raymond and Beulah Young.  Rita relocated with son John from Odessa to Dallas in 1942 where in 1948 she met her husband, Fred Stones, Jr.  Together they moved to Midlothian then to Waxahachie where they started the business Fred Stones Realty which operated until Fred’s death in 1993.

She is survived by her sister, Edith Smith of Andrews, Texas; by sons, Rocky Stones of Waxahachie and John Courville of Dallas; grandchildren, Carson Stones and Scott Courville of Austin, Texas, Casey Courville Miner of Castle Rock, Colorado, Johnny Courville of Houston, Texas; step grandson, Andy Haygood of Austin, Texas; great grandchildren, Teddy Stones, Conner Courville, Meaghan Miner and Tommy Miner; and step great grandchild, Benjamin Viala.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. John (Julio) Jenkins officiating.  Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery.
