Rick Ausmus

Rick Reagan Ausmus, age 61, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away on June 30, 2021 in Crestone, Colorado while on vacation with his family. He was survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Keen Ausmus, 4 daughters, Kristina Forte (Jason) of Waxahachie, Texas, Amber Rojas of Cedar Hill, Texas, Amy Ausmus of Waxahachie, Texas, Stephanie Bermudez (Joey) of Temple, Texas, 16 grandchildren, his mother, Dorothy Ausmus of Midlothian, Texas, 3 siblings, Barry Ausmus of DeSoto, Texas, Tracy Ausmus of Midlothian, Texas, Angela Hendrix of Midlothian, Texas and their spouses. He was proceeded in death by his father, Gene Ausmus of DeSoto, Texas.

Rick was a Christ follower, devoted husband, loving father and the best OG ever. He was a life-long sportsman, avid outdoorsman, deacon at his church and mentor to many. On any given week, you could find him on the baseball field, golf course, church van, teaching Sunday school or playing with any one of his 16 grandkids. He was full of life and always lived it to the fullest by making the most of every moment. He loved to talk and talk and talk and talk some more. He never met a stranger, and his huge smile and infectious laugh will carry on long after his death. Although he left this earth sooner than expected and will be missed immensely, we find solace in knowing his final resting place.
