Richard Lee Stampley, Sr. June 20, 1933 August 11, 2010 Richard Lee Stampley, Sr., 77 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Baylor Medical Center of Waxahachie. He was born to the late William R. and Lucy Perry Stampley on June 20, 1933 in Waxahachie. Richard graduated high school in 1950 from Ennis High School. He loved working crossword puzzles, reading the paper and playing softball. He enjoyed wood crafting and making bird houses and loved working on cars. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Bettye R. Stampley of Waxahachie; his children, Richard Stampley, Jr. of Waxahachie, Suzanne Hickman and her husband, Stephen of Ennis, Wes Stampley and his wife, Carolyn of Ennis; his special niece, Wanda Lu Howell of Schertz; and his special nephew, Bill Ed Willhoite of Arlington; he is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Amanda Stampley Williams, Melissa Lee and her husband, Ben, Specialist Emily Hickman, Felicia Stampley, JR Stampley, Shelby Stampley, Ceara Cook; 6 great grandchildren, Sierra, Macey, Chloee, Chase, Jack, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Gryder; and brother, C. W. Stampley. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 15, 2010 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Moody officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosemont Cemetery, Waxahachie.
