Richard Eugene Shelton, age 52
November 13, 1953
September 4, 2006

Mr. Shelton passed away Monday morning at his Oak Leaf residence. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, but lived in Ellis County most of his life. He was a long time employee of Sweetheart/Solo Cup Corporation.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine and his sons, Richard Elliott Shelton and Michael Paul Shelton, all of Oak Leaf, TX; his mother, Shirley Sykes, and two brothers, James Edward Sykes and Ronald Lankford, all of Scurry, TX; his brother, Jerry Shelton of Ferris, TX; and his sisters, Wanda Beard and Nora Waskom, both of Seagoville, TX; one grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his adopted parents, Howard and Juanita Shelton, his step father, R. C. Sykes and his sister, Kay Cosgrove.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:000 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2006, also at the Red Oak Funeral Home chapel.
