Richard "Dick" Henry Newhall, age 71

Mr. Newhall passed away Sunday after a lengthy illness. Dick was born to Robert Preston and Ruth (Linton) Newhall in Portland, ME. He came to San Antonio, TX. at the age of 12, joined the Navy at 17. After a 3 year tour of military duty, he married Carolyn "Katy" Ann Mallory. To this union were born three daughters. Dick was a true master Carpenter and was in construction business all his life. He retired at age 62 and continued with his love of wood working as his hobby.

He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn Ann Newhall of Waxahachie; one sister, Dorothy Schuh of San Antonio, TX.; three daughters, Morgan Petty & husband Terry; Leslie Herrell & husband Garry; Mallory Petty & husband Walter; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Newhall will lie in state Tuesday evening at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with James Beam officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: grandsons, Ray L. Petty, Eric Herrell, Kenneth Allen, Tony Lopez, Reese Petty, Shane Petty.
