Renee Mott, 47, of Waxahachie, passed away in St. Paul Hospital, Dallas, Tuesday night, March 17, 2009, after two abdominal surgeries further complicated by the lupus disease which had plagued her for many years.
Renee was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 5, 1961 to Marvin L. and Juanita
Mott. She attended schools in Irving and graduated in 1980 from MacArthur High School . Renee graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1986. She was very proud of being a Registered Nurse and worked for several years in psychiatry. Renee also worked as a compliance nurse for two mental health partial hospitalization programs in Fort Worth.
Renee was currently working with the Presbyterian Children's Home training the workers on drug usage and effects. She enjoyed being with people and sharing her knowledge and experiences.
She loved to play board games and usually won. Her special place on earth was in the mountains of Colorado where she would go whenever she had the opportunity. While she had many health problems, she was always optimistic about overcoming whatever came her way. She loved her home and last year became an enthusiastic gardener, learning all she could about growing tomatoes and flowers.
Renee was very special, caring person loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her loving parents, Marvin and Juanita Mott, her special brother, Stephen and wife, Lisa, and the two children that were the light of her life, nephew Trevor and niece Lacy Mott. Also surviving is her traveling companion and aunt, Jeanne Powell, Possum Kingdom, TX, aunt and uncle Saundra and Arnold Mott, Quitman, TX, Yvonne and Charles Mott, Waco, TX, aunt Georgia Dashiell, Lakeway, TX, aunt Janet Lytle, Cortez, CO, and many cousins. She is also survived by her two special white dogs, Shea and Hannah.
Preceeded in death by grandparents Louis and Susie Mott, Elton C. Smith, Helen Proctor, and uncles, Tommy Powell and Louis Mott, Jr. , and aunt Katie Herod.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Rev. Don Scott officiating.
