Mr. Rex B Shelton, age 88, of Lancaster, formerly of Waxahachie ,passed away Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Lancaster Medical Center. He was born in Oceola, Texas to Coleman and Mattie Mae (Gibson) Shelton. Rex was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Waxahachie and a member and past president of the Downtown Mens Bible Class, Past President of the Waxahachie Optimist Club and Past President of the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce.

He is survived by his wife, Polly Shelton of Lancaster, Texas; Former Daughter in Law and Husband: Diane and Joe Korenek of Helotes, Texas, One Brother: Howard Shelton of Fort Worth, Texas; Two Grandchildren: Cody and Alyson Shelton of Mar Vista, California and Ally Korenek of Lubbock, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son; Jimmy Rex Shelton in 1989 and one brother and one sister.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6-8 PM Monday, January 23, 2006 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of life is scheduled for 2:00 PM Tuesday January 24, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Dr. Shane Kennison officiating. Interment will follow at the Red Oak Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Judy and Dennis Adams, Paula and Eddie Trussell, Janet and Kirk Butler, Robin and Craig Boothe and Pam and Lindley Stoker. The Mens Downtown Bible Class will be Honorary Pallbearers.
