Regina Hamm Hazard, born July 15, 1938, went to be with the Lord on July 31, 2020.
Regina was born an only child to Earl and Lucille Hamm. She grew up all her life in Red Oak. She played basketball for Red Oak High prior to graduation.
On August 4, 1956 she married Sterling Lionel Hazard, a tall handsome boy from Ferris. They had two sons, Keith and Kirk. Regina was a “stay at home mom” while the boys were young. She loved to sew. She even made some of their clothes.
Later she worked at several places through the years until retiring from Dallas County.
She served on the City Council for Red Oak in the Seventies. She volunteered at Charlton Methodist Hospital and First United Methodist Church.
She and Lionel loved to travel with friends, Alaska, Branson, Disneyland, just to name a few. They were part of a 42 Club (back in the day). Lifelong friends were made as a result of this club. Until recently they still met for dinner to catch up.
Regina enjoyed cross stitch and she was great at it. Several of her works hang on our walls today. A cherished reminder of a kind and caring woman. She loved sending and receiving cards!
She was an amazing cook. Her recipes are already passed down to her grandkids.
She loved that!!
Regina lived a full life. She and Lionel were very active in their church. Lord’s Acre was special to her.
She loved her family: Lionel—you never saw one without the other; two sons, Keith and Kirk; one daughter-in-law, Kim; three grandsons, Jeff, Kaleb, and Kelsey; five great grandchildren, Ella, Everly, Eden, Kynlee, Kane; three grand daughters-in-law, Jennifer, Courtney and Jessi.
