Rebecca Shubrook

Rebecca Susan Shubrook, 53, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away December 8th, 2013. Rebecca (Becca) was born on November 10, 1960 in Rockledge, Florida, and grew up in Merritt Island, Florida. She graduated from Merritt Island High School and then Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama with a degree in nursing. Becca, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt is survived by her parents Richard L. Brainard and Martha J. Brainard, and preceded in death by her mother Janet E. Brainard. She is also survived by her daughter Melisa N. Wilmarth, grandson Cadan R. Wilmarth, and siblings Cynthia M. Lacey, Richard R. Brainard, Richard L. Myhan, and Jacqueline S. Marcus, as well as many nieces, nephews, and their spouses and families. Becca is also preceded in death by her brother David K. Brainard, and her husband William Gary Shubrook. Becca spent her life caring for others in the home health and hospice fields. She was a dedicated nurse for 35 years. She was a compassionate home care and hospice nurse, which she considered her calling. Loving life, family, and friends, Becca brought joy and celebration to even ordinary days. She will be missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will take place at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 14th at Wayne Bose Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Cadan Wilmarth's College Fund in Memory of Rebecca Susan Shubrook, or your local pet adoption center also in memory of Becca, as both were so important to her.
