Rebecca Diane Morgan

Rebecca “Becky” (Claborn) Morgan, 74, of Italy, TX went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024, at home.

Family visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2024, with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 102 Clark Street, in Italy, TX with Rev. Ronnie Dabney officiating and Rev. Michael Chambers assisting.

Becky was born June 10, 1950, in Decatur, TX to V. M. Claborn, Jr. and Doris (Williams) Claborn. She was retired in 2014 from Ellis County as Assistant Elections Administrator.

She married James “Red” Harold Morgan on June 25, 1971, married 29 years at his death on October 25, 2000.

Becky was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Diane Morgan, on December 17, 1989, her mother, Doris, on July 2, 1993, and her father, V. M., on October 28, 2010.

Left behind to cherish her memory is son, Chris Morgan & wife Georgia, of Italy, TX; five siblings: Tommy Claborn & wife Kelly of Ocala, FL; Nancy Humphrey of Decatur, TX; Frankie Claborn & wife Sheri of Decatur, TX; Judy DeLay of Denton, TX; and Trudy Claborn of Dallas, TX. Her nieces and nephews include: Bill Claborn & wife Shimi of Honolulu, HI; Mike Claborn & wife Nicky of Austin, TX; Tyler Humphrey of Pensacola, FL; Megan Claborn Hammons of Decatur, TX; Lilly Claborn Huss of Decatur, TX; Katie Claborn Uttley of Decatur, TX; and Lindsay DeLay of Mexico City, Mexico. She will be missed by several aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as a host of friends.

Becky enjoyed crocheting baby blankets. These were usually donated to various children’s charities. She enjoyed reading and spending time on Facebook. Also, she volunteered numerous hours over many years in the youth Ellis County 4H programs. She won leadership awards on the county and state levels. Becky played the piano and flute. As an adult, Becky became loved for her homemade pies, especially her coconut pies.
