Raymond Smith

Raymond Lee Smith passed away at the age of eighty on November 18, 2018 at his home of natural causes.

He gave his heart to the Lord in 1963 at the age of 25 and was always active in the Church of God.  He participated in the music ministry, was a Sunday school teacher and served on the council.  He was devoted to his family with a love of fun and practical joking.  He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors and hunting.  He enjoyed many trips to Colorado with his wife, Evyonne and the summers spent with his three grandsons was a highlight of each year.  He loved to cook and enjoyed cooking for others.  He truly had a heart of servitude.

Preceded in death by his father, James Perry Smith. His mother, Rudy B. Holmes-Smith.  His brother, George Thomas Smith.  Survived by his loving wife, Evyonne Skaggs-Smith.  His daughters, Carolyn J. Smith-Hess, Mitzi J. Smith-Shaw and husband, Tim Shaw.  Grandchildren, Brandon L. Hess and wife, Vanesa Hess, Ahren C. Shaw and wife Martha Shaw, Easton L. Hess and wife Kira Hess.  Great grandchildren, Ava L. Shaw, Cali J. Hess, Linden A. Hess, Ryker L. Hess.  Brother, James H. Smith and sister, Jo Ann Smith-Bess.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12:00 in the afternoon in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor E.D. Lipsey officiating. Interment will follow at Gateway Memorial in Waxahachie, TX. A time of visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 am to 11:30 am on Saturday.
