Raymond Clymore

October 10, 1938 — March 12, 2017

Raymond Lee Clymore, surrounded by his loved ones, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017, after many years of fighting lung disease, coronary disease and then in the past year, lung cancer. He left this world in peace knowing that each of his family members knew the Lord, as they followed his example in accepting Christ as their savior.

Those who knew Ray as a friend were blessed. He might have been short in stature but was taller in life than most in so many ways. Through all his adversity in life he was always able to remain calm and think things through.

Ray loved his family and took care of them all until the day he died. He loved his church and he loved his men's breakfast group, the Romeos. He will always be remembered by his quick wit and words of wisdom.

Ray was born October 10, 1938 to Noel Alva and Mary Edith Clymore in Woodsboro, Texas. The family moved to the Long Beach, California area where Ray graduated in 1957 from high school. In 1966, Ray married Carol Jean Brewer. They were blessed with three beautiful daughters, Laura, Leslie, and Lindsey. In 1982, Ray moved his family to Texas where he started his own business. In 2005, Carol was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease. Ray was her primary caretaker during these trying days and was at her side until the day she died in 2009.

Those who knew Ray would say that his true character exemplifies what Paul talks about in Galatians when he speaks of the fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

On April 23, 2011, Ray married Susan Lewis Winn. It was truly a match made in heaven. During those wonderful six years of their marriage, they enjoyed traveling to see friends, building their dream home, worshipping with their beloved Farley Street friends, making new friends together, and finding so much joy in being each other's caregivers.

It is hard to let our beloved husband, daddy and grandad leave us behind, but we rest in the assurance that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior and is not hurting anymore and that we will see him again.

Ray is survived by his wife, Susan Lewis Clymore, his daughters, Laura Tracy and her husband Patrick, Leslie Majors and her husband John, Lindsay Marhold and her husband Scott. His beloved grandchildren, Jordan, Whitney, Taylor, Maddie, Will, Caroline, and Brewer and great granddaughter, Journey. Ray is also survived by his brother, Jerry Clymore and his wife Peggy of Spokane, WA. He is also survived by Susan's children, Misti and her husband Robin, Wess and his wife Elizabeth and Emilie and her husband Chris. Susan's grandchildren, B.G., Belle, Lily, Audrey, Winn and Adalee. Also, Susan's mother LaVerne Lewis. Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Jean Clymore and his parents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Farley Street Baptist Church Building Fund.

Visitation for Ray will be Tuesday, March 13th, 6 PM-8 PM at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, March 14th, 2 PM at Farley Street Baptist Church. Interment will be at the Waxahachie City Cemetery following the service.
