Rayburn A. Green, Sr., age 90

Mr. Green passed away Tuesday in the VA Hospital, Dallas. He was born in Bardwell, TX. to Howard H. and Clara Elizabeth (Caroll) Green. He graduated from Bardwell High School in 1934 and attended several trade schools. Mr. Green served in the US Army during WWII, serving in Hawaii. He and Camella Mae Brannum were married November 27, 1952 in Dallas. He was employed with Cary Products in Hutchins for fifteen years, later for Green and Green in Lancaster, and retired from J-Rod in Ovilla.
Mr. Green was a good man, father and husband. He was a member of the Lancaster Park Baptist Church in Lancaster where he was a Deacon, Usher and served on the Church Board.
Mr. Green is survived by: son, Rayburn A. Green, Jr.; brothers, Jack Green and his wife Joyce of Italy, James Randall Green and his wife Reba of Richardson, Edward Green and his wife Jane of Ennis; sisters, Iva Ballard of Ennis, Aleene Collins and husband Tom of Duncanville and Dorothy Lee also of Duncanville. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Camella Mae Green and two sisters.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Friday at the Red Oak Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, January 8, 2005 also at the Red Oak Funeral Home with Reverend Edmond C. Page officiating. Pallbearers will be Ed Green, Jack Green, Eddie Green, Rodney Green, Alfred Eichler and Sam Thornton. Interment will follow in the Elm Branch Cemetery.
