Ralph Craig Black, at the age of 70, passed away at his home in Waxahachie, Texas on February 20, 2016. He was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on April 30, 1945 to Floyd and Genevieve Black. Ralph was married to Nina in 1975 in Ennis, Texas. He went to Sunset High in Dallas and attended Mountain View College. He was a business owner for many years. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor and 2 purple hearts for combat injury. He lived in Waxahachie over 40 years. He enjoyed travel, golf, hunting and fishing. But in the last 10 plus years he loved golf.
He is survived by is wife Nina and their children: Andy Black and his wife Heather of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Amanda Black of Waxahachie, Natalie Black of San Marcos and Stacie Black of Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. He has two sisters: Jackie Brown and her husband David and Judy Rogge of Ragley, Louisiana and brother in law Dale Selzer and wife Martha of East Texas. Numerous nieces and nephews: Farrel and Chris Cross of Plano, Brent and Lauren Selzer of Fort Worth, Terry and Troy Rogers (Louisiana) Dara and Todd Franks (Georgia), Crystal and Anthony Olivier (Louisiana) Lon Dee Black (Colorado) and Lee Wilson (Louisiana) and many great nieces and nephews that he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Larry and Lonny.
A graveside service will be at the Waxahachie City Cemetery on Wednesday, February 24 at 3:00 in Waxahachie, Texas. There will be a visitation on Tuesday at Wayne Boze Funeral Home from 6:00-7:00.
Ralph had a wonderful life filled with family, friends and adventures.
