R. C. Phillips, age 81

Mr. Phillips, lifetime Waxahachie resident, passed away Tuesday morning at Pleasant Manor Healthcare and Rehab. He was born in Waxahachie to Victor D. and Annie Laura (Prestidge) Phillips. R. C. served in the US Army. He was married to Doris Louise Stokey. He was a member of the American Legion and the Northside Church of Christ.

Survivors are: his wife, Doris Phillips of Waxahachie; four sons, Dick L Phillips and his wife Sheryl of Richardson, Ronnie Phillips and his wife Sandy of Garland, Jim Phillips and his wife Cheryl of Grand Prairie and Reverend John Phillips and wife Carla of Greenville; daughter, Karen Brabham of Waxahachie; brother, Vick Phillips of Ballwin, MO.; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and a large extended family.

The family will receive friends and relatives 7-9 PM Friday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Saturday, October 16, 2004 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Reverend John L. Sullivan officiating and Reverend John Phillips, son, assisting. Pallbearers will be Floyd Ross, Robert Mull, Charlie Johnson, Don Storm, David Butler and Eddie Miller. Interment will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
