Hijo mío, si los pecadores te quisieren engañar, No consientas. Proverbios 1:10.
Plautila Mora (Ama, Abue) was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who passed away on January 16, 2025, at the Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie, Texas. She was 72 years old. Plautila was born in Arroyo Grande, Municipio de Cutzamala de Pinzón, Guerrero, Mexico, to Delfino and Rita Yañez. She completed the 5th grade, and when she was old enough, she moved to Mexico City with her sister Maria, where she worked for a sewing company and later for a family, cooking and cleaning. In the mid to late 1970s, she moved to Tyler, TX, with her brother Hilario, where she married Fausto Mora, who happened to be the brother of her hometown best friend, Maria Barajas. Plautila and Fausto had two children, Primo and Rita Mora. In 1985, she made the most important decision of her life: she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 1987, they moved back to their hometown, where she became the Kids' Sunday school teacher for four years. In 1991, they moved back to Tyler, TX, where at some point, she served as a church usher at Iglesia Nueva Vida.
During the early 1990s, they lived in apartments, but she was determined to own her own house. She worked overtime, sold tacos, tamales, queso fresco at various job sites and as well as sell snacks and candy to the neighborhood kids until that dream became a reality. Her son and daughter gave her seven grandchildren in all, in which she has helped raise each one since they were babies. After Fausto had to move to Mexico, Plautila moved to Waxahachie, Texas, with her son Primo and daughter-in-law Vanesa, where she helped raise their four daughters. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was an amazing cook and loved to garden. Almost everyone at Bethesda Assemblies of God Church in Waxahachie, where she was a member, has herbs and plants they got from her. She also volunteered her time to care for the church plants. Her most cherished accomplishment was leading her family to Christ.
Plautila was constantly involved in serving the Lord and her family with her talents. She was always ready and willing to bring a meal, be a listening ear, tend to the sick, give gardening and cooking tips, cheer and encourage others, as well as share the Gospel.
She was preceded in death by her father, Delfino Yañez, and her mother, Rita Yañez. She is survived by her son, Primo (Vanesa) Mora, and her daughter, Rita Mora; granddaughters Evelyn Ordorica, Aliyah Ordorica, and grandson Romeo Mora-Palmer from Tyler, TX; granddaughters Izabella Mora, Melody Mora, Sophia Mora, and Juliette Mora from Waxahachie, TX; as well as her sisters Irais, Paula, Maria, and Feliz, and her brothers Erasto and Hilario Yañez.
We would like to thank the amazing care she received from the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center nurses, techs, and doctors.
She will be missed with the deepest longing but also remembered as one of God’s special children who lived by the Light of Christ.
