Phillip Jason Martin, 48 of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1967 in Seoul, South Korea.
Phillip was the Chief Investigator for the Ellis County District Attorneys Office and has been an investigator for the Ellis County District Attorneys Office for 25 years. He was a dedicated and professional investigator who made significant contributions to every notable case on his watch. Before joining the Ellis County DAs office, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice at Texas AM Commerce. Phillip earned a Master Peace Officers License from TCOLE, as well as a myriad of other qualifications and accomplishments. He loved working at the DAs Office and being a member of the law enforcement community. Phillip was proud of his calling to law enforcement and dedicated to his profession. He will be greatly missed by his coworkers and professional family.
Phillip Martin was a proud member of the Free Associated Masons. Phillip earned the degree of Master Mason with the Zavala Masonic Lodge and also became a member of the Red Oak Masonic Lodge. Phillip was also a member of the Hella Shrine in Garland, Texas. Phillip enjoyed his dogs, who were his constant and loyal companions. Phillip enjoyed the fellowship of a good game of cards with friends and an occasional trip to Las Vegas. He loved spending time with his family and leaves behind a multitude of friends and family who will miss him and continually love him.
Phillip Martin attended and felt privileged to serve The Oaks Fellowship Church.
He is survived by his two step-sons, Roman Clark and Mark Ceniceroz, his sister, Melissa Martin Guerrero of Dallas, his brother, William Martin of Waxahachie; and also by his parents, Willie R. and Nan Martin of Rockwall.
Services to celebrate and honor Phillips life are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at the Oaks Fellowship Church, Red Oak. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S), a national organization that remembers the sacrifices and assist the families of law enforcement. Contributions in Phillips name may be sent locally to P. O. Box 701, Mansfield, Texas 76063.
