Peggy Larkin

January 31, 1940 — September 27, 2015

Peggy Joann Lusk Larkin was born to Pearl and Sherman Webb Lusk on January 31, 1940. She was raised in Goodman, Mississippi. After graduation, she attended Delta State University and graduated with a degree in education. While teaching in Biloxi, Mississippi, Peggy met her future husband, Kirk Askew Larkin and they married on July 14, 1963. Kirk and Peggy lived in Iowa, Michigan, Florida and Germany. They finally made their home in Waxahachie, Texas in 1975. Peggy taught in the school system for 15 years and had the opportunity to touch many lives. She absolutely loved being a teacher! After retirement, Kirk and Peggy discovered a little piece of heaven on earth in Blooming Grove, Texas. The GNO (Granny & Oda) was born in 2006. It is 30 acres of peaceful ranchland. Peggy poured her heart and soul into the GNO making it a family hub. The GNO has hosted many Fandango, Wounded Warrior Weekends and countless family gatherings. Family was always her first priority. She nurtured her family of 15 into a tight group that stand together now, and always. It was at the GNO on September 27, 2015, surrounded by family, that Peggy left this world. As was her usual way, she planned it and lived it. Peggy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Kirk Askew Larkin, two daughters, Denny Alexander and her husband Brian, and Angie Behning. She was blessed with six grandchildren: Sara Meazell and husband Rusty, Matthew Behning, Larkin Alexander, Katy Behning, Kendall Behning and Gabriel Alexander. Peggy also had two great-grandchildren: Olivia Kirklynn Meazell and Mason O'Neil Alexander. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Sharon Kelley, Linda and Patsy Aday, Michelle Thompson, Kara Lanning, Faye Rodgers and Mike Behning. There will be a private service, a celebration of life will be held at the GNO on October 10, 2015. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
