Pauline Smith

Pauline L. Smith, aged 85 went to be with the Lord peacefully on September 12, 2015 at Baylor Dallas hospital. Pauline was born February 17, 1930 in Jarrettsville, Maryland. She was the daughter of Clifford H. Knopp and Laura J. Knopp. Polly was Valedictorian in her graduating class of 1949 at Jarrettsville High School. She was awarded a scholarship to nursing school at Maryland General Hospital. Polly married Charles J. Smith in 1950 and lived in Jarrettsville, Maryland until 2005 when they moved to Ennis, Texas. She enjoyed reading, attending church, spending time with her cat, Marmalade. She attended Ellis County Art Association in Waxahachie, Texas where she took joy in perfecting her painting skills. Polly started a home daycare which she ran for over 20 years and had continued contact with many of the children during her lifetime. Polly is survived by daughters, Christine Bentley Winsett and husband Terry of Red Oak Texas, Suzanne Rapacki and husband Ed and son, Philip Smith of Colorado; granddaughters, Laurie Moore of Waxahachie Texas and Jennifer Puente of El Paso, Texas; great grandchildren, Madison, Ashely and Ben Puente and Kaitlin and Jackson Moore; brother, Norman Knopp of Jarrtettsville; and sister Betty Bare of Jarrettsville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 6pm-8pm at Wayne Boze Funeral Home 1826 W. Highway 287 Business Waxahachie Texas.
