Paul David "Hoot" Wibbeler, age 58, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Methodist Dallas Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born January 13, 1957 in Huntingburg, IN to Earl L. and Alberta G. (Kays) Wibbeler and grew up in Holland, IN where he participated in little league baseball and Boy Scouts. He graduated from Southridge High School in 1975 where he was active on the track and field team in pole vault, football, and baseball. In October of 1975 he enlisted in the US Army, B Co 1st Bn 66th Armor, 2d Armed Div, Hell on Wheels, where he proudly served under Gen. Patton III. In September 1981 he was honorably discharged.Once discharged he worked for a spell at CB Hodges Cattle Co. in Salado, TX, then moved into the Dallas - Fort Worth area and signed on with Hancock Signs, where he gained the nickname of "Hoot" and moved onto Federal Sign, who in 2002 did some restructuring, which was not pleasing to Hoot so he decided to follow a dream, the dream of being an auctioneer. He attended Nashville Auction School, June 2002, and hired on for Mike Jones Auction Group, Dallas TX, and moved onto Lone Star Auctioneers, Fort Worth. Hoot married Becky Smith Sullivan on August 24, 2002 at their home in Venus, Texas. This marriage was based on true friendship, love and they rocked each other's world! They enjoyed the cowboy way of life: team penning, trail riding, and campfire cooking and were members of the US Marshall Posse. Hoot and Becky were active members of the Ellis County Cowboy Church, founding members of the Ranch house Cowboy Church, in Maypearl, TX. In 2008 Hoot answered the Lord Servant call of ministry and attended The George W. Truett Theological Seminary, in 2002 and furthered his studies at Landmark Baptist Theological Seminary, in 2013. On October 11, 2009 he founded the Three Nails Bible Church in Cleburne, TX where he eagerly and faithfully served the Lord preaching the Gospel of Christ. Hoot is survived by his wife, Becky Wibbeler of Venus, TX and his children, Tracy Brundrett of Azle, TX, Brandy Martinez of Arlington, TX, Justin Ross of Dallas, TX, and April McCamy of Plano, TX. He had seven grandchildren: Josh and Ross Brundrett, Diego, Skye, and Isabella Ross, Richie Beard and Micah Ross. He is survived also by his mother, Alberta G. Heldman of Huntingburg, IN. a sister, Susan Sanders, of Jasper, IN. and two nieces, Sabrina and Molly Sanders also of Jasper, IN. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl L. Wibbeler and his step-father Dennis J. Heldman. The family will greet family, friends, and others whose lives Paul "Hoot" touched Sunday, June 28th, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy 287 Business, Waxahachie, TX. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am on Monday June 29, 2015 at the Three Nails Bible Church, 2412 FM 2135, Cleburne, TX, with Pastor Dave Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas at 1:15 pm. Hoot was not a "flower" man... in lieu of flowers, food etc., we have set up an account to donate for the funeral and other expenses.
