Paul Andrew McAlister, 48, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 as a result of a home accident. He was born March 19, 1968 in Burlington, IA, and moved to Red Oak in July 1982. Paul graduated from Red Oak High School in 1986 with the highest SAT score in his class and National Honors and attended UTA.
From 1987 to 1993 Paul served in the U. S. Navy as a Nuclear Engineer working on the USS Houston 713 Submarine. After his service he started working for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Dallas V.A. Hospital. Paul was an active member of the Sub Vets of Dallas. He will be honored for his volunteer service with a plaque at the Sea Wolf Marine Park in Galveston, Texas in November 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Connie Grimes McAlister, his beloved Macaw Max, parents Jerry and Patricia and brother Adam, his wife Jamie and their children Miles & Maecy.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, August 05, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 320 E. Ovilla Road Red Oak, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with Honors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paul McAlister Memory MMS (SS) USN, Cavalla Historical Foundation, 601 23rd Street Rear, Galveston, Texas 77550.
