Robert Patterson "Pat" Kelley, age 62

Pat was born in Houston, Texas to Jack C. and Geneva Adams Kelley. Pat was raised in Waxahachie and graduated from Waxahachie High School in 1958. He attended Texas A&M where he was in the Band and ROTC. He received his degree from North Texas University in 1964. Pat married Martha Morgan, May 29, 1965 in Celina, Texas where he taught school and was the Band Director. He later sold insurance for Republic Life Insurance Co. In 1973 they moved back to Waxahachie when he was employed with Kerr Glass, later owning and operating the Gingerbread Press. In 1990 Pat entered the nursing profession employed with Baylor Medical Center, Waxahachie, several home health care agencies and currently with Odessey Good Shepherd Hospice. Pat was an active member of the First United Methodist, was a member of the choir and had been Choir Director. He had also been Choir Director for First United Methodist Church in Ennis, Ferris Heights United Methodist Church, Waxahachie Corral, Waxahachie Community Theatre and Good Shepherd Hospice Choir. Pat was a member of the Waxahachie Rotary Club, was a Master Mason with Lodge #90 Waxahachie Masonic Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Phi-Mu-Alpha music Fraternity. Pat also loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by: his wife of 37 years, Martha; three sons, Chip Kelley and his wife Ginger, Chris Kelley and his wife Cindy all of Waxahachie, and Clint Kelley of Minneapolis, MN.; three grandsons, Mathew and Caleb Rodgers, Brady Kelley; one granddaughter, Katie Kelley; his parents, Dr. Jack and Geneva Kelley; one brother, Bill Kelley and his wife Leanne of Waxahachie. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and Steve Kelley.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 PM Thursday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Friday, March 7, 2003 at the First United Methodist with Dr. Richard Reed and Chaplain Mickey Loftis officiating. Interment will follow at the Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Ray Sanchez, Chad Carpenter, Britt Sims, Scott Rodgers, Greg Centilli and Anthony Cantu. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jerry Tigert, Dan Wright, Doyle Varner, Larry Felty, Joe Smith, Anselmo Guerreo, Dr. John Bousquet, George Susat, and Gary Gamble.

Anyone that has been a member of Pat's Choir and would like to participate in the service is asked to meet in the choir room of the First United Methodist Church one hour prior to service time.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Organ Fund or Odessey Good Shepherd Hospice.
