Mr. Martinez passed away Sunday morning at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was born in San Pedro, del Alamo, Durango, Mexico to Juan and Julia (Hernandez) Martinez. After his first wife's death, he married Alejandrina Reyes in 1951 in Durango, Mexico. Mr. Martinez was a laborer from 1951-1967 in California, Arkansas, and Lubbock, Texas. He was a life long farmer of Durango, Mexico, who had lived in Waxahachie the past 3-½ years. He was a good husband, father, grandfather, and a faithful Catholic.

His survivors include: wife Alejandrina Martinez of Waxahachie; sons and daughters-in-law, Guillermo and Rita Martinez of Waxahachie, Alberto and Maria Martinez of Veracruz, Mexico, Benjamin and Anna Maria Martinez of Waxahachie, Pablo and Dorothy Martinez, also of Waxahachie, Nicolas and Maria Elvia Martinez of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Juan and Virginia Martinez of Waxahachie; daughters and sons-in-law, Esther and Javier Villarreal of Mexico, Lucina and Samuel Colin, Gabriela and Lorenzo Rodriquez, Josefina and Florencio Gomez, all of Waxahachie; forty three grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, first wife, son, Gabriel Martinez, two brothers and two sisters.

A Rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2006 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waxahachie with Father Michael Guadagnoli Celebrant.
Mr. Martinez's grandsons will be pallbearers. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
