Pleasant Box "P.B." Castleberry, 81 of Waxahachie, Texas passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Waxahachie. He was born August 13, 1932 in Snowball, Arkansas to Barney and Walsa Box Castleberry. P. B. (Papa) will be greatly missed by his friends and family, he touched many hearts with all his stories. He was a proud husband of 61 years and was a devoted Mason and spent most of his life hunting, fishing and directing music. His life lessons will be passed down to many generations to come. He graduated from Harrison High School in Arkansas in 1950, he received his Bachelors Degree from Arkansas State Teacher College in 1954 and completed his Masters in Music Education from the University of North Texas in 1959. P.B. had many jobs over the years, he served in the National Guards for 30 years and retired as a CW-4, he served in the 49th Infantry Division as Band Master and was a 32nd Degree Mason and served as Band Director for Hella Shrine and is a 60 year Mason. He taught school in Smithville, Arkansas, Stamps, AR., Albany ISD, Roanoake ISD, Rockwall ISD, Waxahachie ISD, Hill Junior College and Sanders Estes Correctional Facility in Venus. He was the Tax Appraiser in Anahuac, Texas for 9 years and was a Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service for 8 years before retiring. He is survived by his wife Bernice Castleberry, Daughter and Son In Law: Nancy Castleberry Jackson and Bobby Jackson, Sister in Laws: Wilma Lee Pritchett and Bernell Harris.; Grandchildren: Heath and Kara Autrey, BJ and Jamie Jackson, Jacob and Maribel Jackson. Great Grandchildren: Hunter Autrey, Ty Autrey, Easton Autrey and Liam Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 son: Pleasant Box Castleberry, Jr., Brother in Law: Preston Pritchett and Mother in Law: Vesta Lee Hancock. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 2:00 PM Friday, February 28, 2014 graveside at the Lakeview Cemetery in Waxahachie. Pallbearers will be Bobby Jackson, BJ Jackson, Jacob Jackson, Heath Autrey and Hunter Autrey. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
