Mrs. Sandeford, a lifelong Ellis County resident, passed away Wednesday night at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. She was born in Athens, TX. to Tom Young and Minnie Lee (Murray) Derden. She was a member of the Forreston Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sandeford is survived by: two sons, Carl and Lola Ballard and Bill and Frances Ballard, all of Forreston; four daughters, Catherine Seabolt and her husband J. H. of Waxahachie, Johnnie Evelyn Williams and husband Tom of Broadus, MT., Ora Faye Ferguson and husband David of Ft. Worth, TX. and Ann Eggleston and her husband Norman of Forreston; sixteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar T. Sandeford, two brothers, W. H. and Jim Tom Derden; six sisters, Lela Weast, Oma Wright, Corine Shelton, Maypearl Graham, Rudy Gentch, and Margaret Lynn.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Sunday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2 PM Monday, April 7, 2003 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Jerry Carter officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons. Interment will follow at Sardis Cemetery.
