Opal Long, 84 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011in Waxahachie. She was born to the late Lucius Keys "Jack" Bynum and Mamie Gertrude Lindsey Bynum on April 19, 1926 in Danville, Alabama. Opal loved to play cards and dominoes. She enjoyed dancing and loved spending time with her great grandson, Gus, who was the light of her life. Those that knew and loved Opal know that she never had a problem speaking her mind and you would always have a straight answer to any question. She was a member of the Rebeccah Lodge and she will be missed by all who loved her and knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Mitchell of Waxahachie; her granddaughter, Bethany Millican and her husband, Jimmy of Waxahachie; her great grandson, Gus Millican of Waxahachie; her great granddaughter, Jamie Weaver and her husband, Derek of Blooming Grove; and many nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin "Neal" Long; 2 brothers, Al and Jim Bynum; and her sister, Lorene Bunson. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery with Dr. Joe Langley officiating.
