Onesimo Zapata

On Saturday July 13, 2024 Onesimo Zapata know as “fly”, and “pop” (age 73) gave his last breath in home in waxahachie, Tx. Onesimo Zapata was born February 16, 1951 in Pawnee, Tx to Hijnio and Dominga Espinoza Zapata 

Onesimo Zapata grew up in Pawnee,Tx. Where he later joined job corps and went on to travel around the U.S.. Once he was done with that he went off and joined the army where he was medically discharged shortly after. Onesimo began working for Owen’s Corning, as a lineman to where he worked his to leadman. Onesimo worked for 36+ years until his retirement in 2016. 

Onesimo married Maria and had two children together and they later divorced but always there for his kids Christina and John Peter Zapata 

Onesimo enjoyed listening to music, drawing pictures and even walking around town. He took well care of his house and everyone around. He helped those he could and always had a bright smile. He knew how to cheer us up when time were tough. He was a father, grandfather, brother and uncle to all those around him.

Onesimo was preceded in death by his parents: Hijnio and Dominga Zapata, his sisters : Felicia Delbosque, Elojia Trevino, Martina Quintanilla, Josephine Garcia, Maria Gonzalez and his kid: Christina and John Peter Zapata and also his ex wife Maria Garza Onesimo is survived by his grandkids: Maria Flores, Marissa Zapata, Rene Zapata, and Juan Barron of Waxahachie, Tx and his Great grandkids: Harmony Hernandez, Rj Rodriguez, Jayce Rodriguez, Alani Rodriguez and Jazelle Rodriguez of Waxahachie, Tx and his step daughter: Janie Paulson and his two brothers: Natalio Zapata, Rudy Zapata and his nieces as nephews and other relatives
