Mrs. Wood passed away Sunday evening at her Waxahachie residence. She was born in Reagor Springs to James Parks and Martha (Meador) Taylor. Mrs. Wood attended schools at Reagor Springs and graduated from Waxahachie High School. She married Eugene Wood May 10, 1942in Waxahachie. She was an Administrative Secretary for Parkland Hospital prior to being a legal Secretary for Jenkins and Gilchrist, until her retirement in 1986. She had been an active member of Farley Street Baptist Church for the past forty years where she taught Sunday School and WMA'S. Mrs. Omega loved God, her family and her church. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Mrs. Wood is survived by: sons, Larry Wood and wife Jeanne and Lynn Wood and wife Cindy, all of Waxahachie; daughters, Lexa Adams and husband David of Jacksonville, TX., Laurel Wood of Keller, TX., and Lois Keith and husband Drew of Irving; brother, Odell Taylor of Ennis; sister, LaTreece Gaither and husband Olen D. of Red Oak; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene in 1991; brothers, Robert and Lloyd Taylor; and sisters, Leonis Cheek, Virgi Mae Treece, Jammie Wilsford and Bernice Reynolds.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Farley Street Baptist Church, 111 Farley, Waxahachie, Texas, 75165 with Brother Richard Smith and Brother David Gradberg officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Bell, Scott Gullett, B. J. Schrome, Garlin Bell, Jim Owens and Jim Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Wood's nephews. Interment will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery.
