Oliver Exley

Oliver Louis Exley, 79 of Red Oak, Texas passed away Thursday, August 06, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on February 28, 1936 in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania to John R. and Roxie D. Boocks Exley. After high school, Oliver attended and graduated from the Practical Bible Training School and became an active Baptist Minister for many years. Through the years Oliver worked in the Insurance business and his last job was a greeter at Walmart. He married Esther Williams and they were married for 57 years. He lived in Pennsylvania for most of his life until 1986 when he moved to Texas. He loved Blue Bell Moo Bars and his family. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him. He is survived by his wife Esther Williams Exley of Red Oak, Texas; 3 Sons: Bruce & Linda Exley of Justin, Texas, Jonathan & Rosie Exley of Arlington, Texas and Timothy Exley of North Richland Hill, Texas; 2 Daughters: Cheryl & Bernie Phillips of Denton, Maryland and Sara and Kevin Lawrence of Houston, Delaware; Brother in Law: Morley Jenkins of Curwensville, PA, 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 Sons: David, Austin and Nathanial Exley, 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Heritage Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Bradley officiating. Interment will be tentatively on Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery in Oakland Township, Pennsylvania. Visitation with the family will be Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
