Olen Weemes

Olen Lee Weemes, 89,  of Red Oak, Texas passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020.  He was born on January 9, 1930 in Lamar County to George and Stella Mills Weemes.

He served in the Korean War from 1953-1954.  He was in the Army 7th Infantry Division and in the Military Police and was later a Printing Pressman after his service in  the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jane Kilgore Weemes, son Ronald Weemes, son-in-law Andy Wilkerson, and grandson Aaron Wilkerson.  He is followed in death by his brother, Buddy Weemes, of Rice, on January 8, 2020.

He is survived by daughter, Sharon Wilkerson of Red Oak and son Russell Weemes and his wife Riki of Powderly, Texas.  Grandson Adam Wilkerson of Red Oak and granddaughter Andrea Wilkerson of Irving.  Grandson Randy Weemes and his wife Sabrina, and their son Cassiel of Georgia, and grandson Lee Weemes of Alabama.  He is also survived by his sister Lillie Mae Shockley of Fort Worth.

Services celebrating Olen's life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Weemes will be laid to rest at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas following the service.
