Nina May Alfaro (Fairchild), age 77, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo.
Nina Alfaro was born on May 29, 1946, in Fortier Twp, near Canby, Minnesota to parents Mark and Annie (Christensen) Fairchild. She was raised on the Canby farm with her brothers and sisters Evelyn, Ivan, Daniel, Lester, Theodore, Edwin, Henry, Pearl, and her twin sister June. Nina graduated from Canby High School and afterwards went to Miracle Valley Bible Institute in Arizona. After graduating from Miracle Valley Bible Institute, she served as a missionary in Mexico. Nina met Braulio Alfaro, who was a pastor at the time in Mexico, and they married in Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico on September 26, 1968. They went on to have four children: Jocabed, Nathan, Nick, and Andy. Nina earned an Associate Degree in Medical Records and worked as a Medical Record Technician for over 25 years. She retired from Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Nina gave her life to the Lord at the age of ten at a Vacation Bible School at the Full Gospel Church in Canby, MN, and served the Lord every day of her life. Nina had an unwavering faith and selflessness and was an extraordinary woman who touched the lives of everyone she met. Nina was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and their commitment to the Lord. She was a member of several churches over the years, and most recently attended Bethel Assembly of God in San Angelo, Texas.
Nina is survived by her brother Henry and sister June, daughter Jocabed and Israel Flores, Nathan and wife Christine Alfaro, Nick and wife Laura Alfaro, and Andy and wife Tiffany Alfaro. Her grandchildren: Jonathan and wife Vanessa Flores, Lileanna Flores, Aaron Flores, Amaris Alfaro, Jade Alfaro, Joshua Alfaro, Alexa Alfaro, Emily Alfaro, Isabella Alfaro, Lucas Alfaro, and Jaycee Alfaro. Her great-grandchildren: Olivia Flores.
