Mrs. Nettie Merle (McAlpin) Browning, 88 of Midlothian passed away June 17, 2009 in Waxahachie. She was born to Hugh Alexander and Fannie Catherine (Stansberry) McAlpin April 7, 1921.
Merle served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman in WW II. She also attend North Texas State. She loved to sew and take extra good care of her family. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie.
Survivors are her daughter Kathy Vermillion and her husband Larry of Waxahachie, son Larry Browning and his wife Nita of Allen, Grandsons: Stephen Vermillion and his wife Maria, Neil Browning and his wife Jennifer, Daniel Browning, Samuel Browning, and great-grandson Jensen Neil Browning; brother, Gene McAlpin. Also many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death are: parents, husband Edward Quincy Browning, son Tim Browning, nine brothers and sisters.
Graveside services are 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Galloway officiating. Pallbearers are members of the Browning Family. A visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
