Nellie Lowry

Nellie Irene Lowry, 91 of Waxahachie, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Andrew and Laura Stanton Pruitt on December 08, 1920 in Ellis County. Nellie loved to work in her yard and avidly worked puzzles. She married the love of her life, Raymond "R.B." Lowry on October 25, 1953. R. B. passed away in January of 1980. Nellie's passion in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by so many and continually loved. Nellie is survived by her daughter, Connie Ballard of Waxahachie; by her grandchildren, Darla Rieper, Tony Rieper and his wife, Venessia, Trey Rieper and his wife, Stephanie, Sarah Whitten and her husband, Josh, all of Waxahachie; great grandchildren, Bryanna Eggleston, Zack Rieper, Hayden Rieper, Emma Rieper, Kaitlyn Rieper, Amanda Rieper, Morgan Hudson, Logan Hudson, Abbi Whitten all of Waxahachie; her great-great grandson, Mitchell David Lackey of Waxahachie; her sisters, Delma Booher of Arlington and Thelma Ford of Rising Star; her sister-in-law, Eloise Pruitt of Midlothian; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Raymond "R. B." Lowry; her great grandson, David Eggleston; her parents, Andrew and Laura Pruitt; and by her sisters, Betty Farris, Ola Barnett and Ruby Cavender.; and by her brothers, Ira Pruitt, Bill Pruitt, and Hubert Pruitt. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Chaplain Jerry Bloomfield officiating, under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
