Mrs. Carpenter, lifelong resident of Waxahachie, passed away Friday at Pleasant Manor Living Center. She was born in Waxahachie to John and Mildred Vick Birdsong. She was employed as a fabric cutter with Flexsteel Manufacturing Company. She was Baptist and attended Heritage Baptist Church. She was a member of the Waxahachie Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by 4 sisters: Charlotte Presley and husband Tommy of Hurst, Texas, Patricia Murray and husband Jack of Waxahachie, Delores Sanders and husband Lee Roy of Waxahachie and Donna Stewart and husband Ken of Rice, Texas. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1998 and her brother Charles W. Birdsong.

The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday June 17 from 6 to 8 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be Wednesday June 18 at 10 AM in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel, Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Gibson officiating. Pallbearers will be John Murray, Jeff Murray, Jeremy Risenhoover, Steven Presley, John Michael Murray and Tracy Hacker. Interment will follow in the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
