Nane Louise Shelton December 2, 1934 October 31, 2010 Nane Louise Shelton of Waxahachie died on October 31, 2010 after a long illness. Memorial services were held at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 1, 2010. She will be interred at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hattie Bagby, two sisters, Jo Gros and Marilyn Melton, her twin brother, Linville Bagby, and her husband of 53 years, Wilson Shelton. She is survived by her son, Pastor Kirk Shelton and wife Toni of Forney, three grandchildren, Kate Shelton of Austin, Chris Shelton and wife Rachel of Dallas, and Kim Shelton of Forney, one great-granddaughter, Kylee Shelton, a sister and two brothers. Nane was born in Thola, Arkansas on December 2, 1934 and spent most of her childhood in the state. She was a hairdresser by profession and received many awards for her work. Thirty-four years ago, she moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where she was actively involved in her home church, the Gideon Auxiliary, and for many years led a Bible study in a women's prison near downtown New Orleans. In the spring of 2000, the Sheltons moved to Waxahachie where their one son and his family were living. For the last ten years she has made the Waxahachie/Red Oak area their home. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church Red Oak where her son was pastor for several years. Nane was a woman who never met a stranger. She loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She loved to cook meals for her family, bake cookies and sweets for her friends, and collect antiques for herself. Her antique-collecting was as much about the hunt and making the deal as it was about the acquisition. Every antique had a story, and she loved telling them over and over again. This past weekend, Nane went to sleep at the Red Oak Health and Rehabilitation Center and woke up in heaven. She leaves behind a family and friends who loved her dearly, and who will miss her greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Gideons Memorial Bible Fund, Ellis County Gideons, P. O. Box 2683, Waxahachie, Texas 75165. www.waynebozefuneralhome.com
