Nancy Novak

April 7, 1950 — February 8, 2023

Midlothian

Nancy Sue Novak, 72 passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on Wednesday February 8th with her daughters, Christina and Kimberly by her side.

Nancy was born in Lodi, Ohio on April 7th, 1950, to Raymond and Henrietta Lee.

Nancy grew up in the Edinburg, Ohio area where she attended Southeast High School.  Nancy met the love of her life while attending high school, David Novak.   David and Nancy were married in June of 1968 and began a life together in Ohio once David returned from serving in Vietnam in the United States Army.

Nancy and David moved to Spring, Texas in 1980 where Nancy took a Job in customer service for Eastman-Kodak.  Later, Nancy went to work for Compaq Computer in Houston where she retired in 1992 so that she and David could Travel.  Nancy enjoyed several years of retirement as she and David traveled all over North America in their beautiful Southwind Motor Home, seeing and doing everything she had ever dreamed of.  After a few years of retirement Nancy and David moved to Edinburg, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where they built and operated the Double N Kennel.  The Double N was a world class Kennel Experience for Dogs.  The Double N proved to be Nancy’s passion in life, she became instant friends with every dog and owner that came through the Double N, friendships that carried on with her for the rest of her life.  Later David and Nancy settled on the Gulf Coast of Texas on Padre Island and enjoyed the beach life and fishing, she was an AMAZING Fisher Woman!

In 2017 Nancy and David moved from south Texas to Midlothian, Texas to be near Christina their daughter and her husband Marc.  In 2018, Nancy and David celebrated 50 years of marriage!  The girls, Christina and Kimberly threw a huge surprise anniversary party, and all the kids, grandkids, great grandkids and relatives form all over the country attended, Nancy was so proud to share this day with family.    In her final 6 years Nancy spent much of her time hosting holiday parties for the family at her home in Midlothian.  She and Christina spent nearly every day together shopping, getting their hair and nails done and making every appointment together.

Nancy was a very proud, mother of her children, an amazing grandmother to her four grandkids, always sewing, baking and doing crafts for the family, organizing family functions as she loved big family gatherings.  Later Nancy gained a new title as “ Gi Gi or Gi-Ma” to her 12 great grandchildren that she absolutely  adored.

Nancy lived a full life in her 72 years.  She was an incredibly courageous, intelligent and loving lady.  She never met a stranger and offered a helping hand to anyone she ever came across in need.  The world was a much better place for having Nancy in it and there will never be another like her!   Our family has peace knowing she is walking hand in hand with David for eternity in the presence of our Heavenly Father in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband David James Novak, Father Raymond Lee, Mother Henrietta Lee, Sister Sharon Ogden, and brother Terry Lee.

Nancy is survived by her brother Donald Lee, Daughter Christina Marie Smith and Husband Marc, Daughter Kimberly Sue Goerke and Husband David, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
