Myra Elizabeth Huskins Venable, age 81

Myra Venable passed away Saturday morning at her daughter's home in Fort Worth. She was born in Nash, Texas to Isom Clinton Wood and Eula Elizabeth Rhodes Wood. She graduated High School from Avalon in 1942 and married Charles Franklin Huskins on April 26, 1943. He preceded her in death on November 9, 1992, after 49 years of marriage. She married Robert Leslie Venable January 21, 2000, in Waxahachie. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2006, after almost 7 years of marriage. Myra was a beautician at Jewel's Beauty Shop in Waxahachie for over thirty years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Waxahachie for more than sixty years. Myra and Robert were members of the Nash Victory Club.

Her survivors include: daughter, Karen Carney and husband Gerald of Ft. Worth; two sons, Lyle Huskins and wife Susie of Waxahachie, and David Huskins also of Waxahachie; step son, Rickey Lynn Venable and Beatrice Henrioulle of Kennewick, WA; step daughter, Kathy Jean Reynolds and Norman Reynolds of Richmond, CA.; eight grandchildren, Clint Huskins, Jon Carney, David Charles Huskins, Michael Carney, Kerry Huskins, Phillip Huskins, Elizabeth Musser, and Wyatt Huskins; four step grandchildren: Remi Venable, Henri Venable, Bethany Reynolds, and David Reynolds; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded In death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, first husband Ike Huskins, and second husband Robert Venable.

Visitation and a time to greet the family will be Wednesday, January 17, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Celebration of her Life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2007 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Dr. Leroy Fenton officiating. Burial will follow at Waxahachie City Cemetery.
