Ms. Carpenter, a lifetime Waxahachie resident, passed away early Monday at Baylor Medical Center Waxahachie. She was born in Waxahachie to S. Lewis and Willie Mae (Burns) Carpenter. She was a graduate of Waxahachie High School. Ms. Carpenter was employed as secretary/bookkeeper for Mobil Oil in Dallas until her retirement. She worked locally after retirement for Dorothy Brown Real Estate, Ellis County Teachers/Employee Credit Union and the Ellis County Farm Bureau. She loved to knit and loved animals, especially dogs.

She is survived by: a number of cousins, including Homer Woodall of Waxahachie; and many friends including, Jackie and John Griffin, Gordon and Merle Walker and Don and Elaine Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5-7 PM Tuesday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM graveside services, Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at the Waxahachie City Cemetery with Walter Buchanan officiating.
