Mary Ellen Dale, age 89
March 19, 1916
August 28, 2005
Mrs. Dale passed away Sunday night at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie. Mary was born March 19, 1916 at 711 W. Main Waxahachie, TX., to Clarence Craig and Kate Bowman Douglas. She attended Waxahachie High School graduated 1933 as valedictorian of her class. In 1937 graduated from Trinity University (Wax) with a Bachelor of Science degree CUM LAUDE, later completed her Master of Education degree from University of Texas in Austin. She taught school for over 30 years retiring in 1981. She also taught in Waxahachie, Bono, Blooming Grove, Denison, Dallas and Austin. She also taught in Florida for Helen Hart Private School in Hollywood Beach. She worked as a private secretary for the Purchasing Agent of Diesel Engine Co. and Continental Motors Corp. In 1942 she married her sweetheart Tom B. Hosford, Jr. he was killed in an airplane crash in 1952. In 1954 she married Bernard Dale and he died in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joe Bowman Douglas, sister, Lynnette Douglas Bagwell Barton.
Mrs. Dale is survived by her Adoptive family, Bob and Marie Przybylski; their four children my adoptive grandchildren, Ray and his wife Susan; Bobby; Tammy and her husband Billy Seaman; Ron and his wife Melissa; and my12 adoptive great-grandchildren; two sister-in-laws, Virginia Douglas and Pearl Hosford Muirhead; brother-in-law, Buddy Hosford; special nieces and nephews, Marilyn Bagwell Hooks and husband Eddie; John Bagwell and wife Gloria; Helen Holland and husband Herb; great-niece, Anna; great-nephews, Sean, Rhett and Spencer; step-grandchildren, Tony Dale; Michael Dale; Charles Dale and Jean Marie Fisher.
The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Wednesday at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of her life well be held Thursday 10:00 AM September 1, 2005 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Vance McIntosh officiating. Pallbearers will be, Robert James Przybylski, Raymond James Przybylski, Ronald Przybylski, Billie Seaman, John Shea, and Jerry Shea. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Burial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
