Mrs. Bula Varner, age 90, passed away early Saturday morning at the Altera Sterling House in Waxahachie. She was born in Frost, Texas to William David Long and Elizabeth Swann Long. Mrs. Varner was a member of Ferris Heights Methodist Church for 60 years. She was a buyer for Cheeves Dept. store for many years and also worked at Merle Norman Cosmetics , Inlook-Outlet Factory Store and Gilliam Upshaw Pharmacy.

She is survived by one son, Doyle W Varner and wife Mary of Waxahachie, Texas; one daughter, Barbara Smith of Ennis, Texas; one brother in law, Henry Varner and wife Mary of Lewisville, Texas; one sister in law, Norma Weir of Waxahachie, Texas; a special niece, Oleta Hayden of Mertens, Texas and several other nieces and nephews.
Also surviving is one grandson, Donald Smith of Ennis Texas; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Cooper of Waxahachie, Texas; Suzanne Nester of Garland, Texas and four
Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lochlin Varner on October 11, 1974 and also by four brothers and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Henry Varner, Leonard Limmer, Donald McDonald, Kenneth McDonald, Robert L. West and D.J. DeJong.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 to 8 pm Sunday, April 4th at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The celebration of Life will be at 2 pm Monday, April 5th in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Reverend John Shipman officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
