Mrs. Bobby Tidwell Crittenden, age 81

January 27, 2006

Mrs. Crittenden was born August 12, 1924 in Waxahachie to John F. and Willie V. (Deaver) Tidwell. She went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2006. She graduated from Forreston High School and was employed with Safeco Insurance Company as an insurance rater for 34 years. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie where she sang in the Chancel Choir, was a Primary Sunday School teacher, and a member of the Fidelis Sunday school class, Joy Singers, and UMW. She enjoyed traveling with friends, attending musicals and community theatre, and following her favorite sports teams. Bobby was a volunteer at Renfro Nursing Home and a health care provider for her extended family. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Stohner and her husband Kenneth Jr., their children Meredith and Justin, all of Dallas. Also surviving is one brother Wayne Tidwell of Waxahachie and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; two brothers, Clarence and Carl Tidwell; and one sister, Nina Mae McCullough, preceded her in death.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 to 9 PM Monday evening at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 31, 2006 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel with Reverends Jerry Galloway and Kenneth Stohner, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bell, Jr., Clint Byers, Mike Grant, Sam Stohner, Bill Vanderburg, and Byron Woolley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Bell, Fred McCullough and Michael Tidwell.


Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 505 W. Marvin, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.
