Oliver Jackson, age 88

Mr. Jackson, a lifelong resident of Johnson County, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Life Care Hospital in Ft. Worth. He was born in Marystown (Johnson Co.), TX. to James Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth (Dunaway) Jackson. He served in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He married Sue Sims November 15, 1974 in Ardmore, OK. He was a small engine mechanic/repairman working in the Waxahachie City Bicycle Shop and Marr Brothers in Dallas. Mr. Jackson enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Venus.

He is survived by: his wife of 29 years, Sue Jackson of Venus; two sons, Oliver D. Jackson and wife Mary Bess of Midlothian and Tommy W. Jackson and wife Nina of Dallas; one sister, Leota Jackson of Venus; two grandchildren, Rebecca and Jeremy Jackson of Midlothian. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter.

The family will receive friends and relatives 6-8 PM Thursday at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be 10 AM Friday, May 7, 2004 with Reverend Richard Norris and Arron Householder officiating. Interment will follow in Waxahachie City Cemetery.
